A week ago, if you told me we would be talking about Jeremy Lin taking over the NBA, I probably would have LOL. I think things are a bit different now especially with his career night vs the Lakers. This isn’t an ordinary career night where most players that have career games against the Lakers go for 19 points. Lin went for 38! I think what most lakers fan probably don’t realize is that Lin was on their radar during the 2010 draft but decided to take Derek Caracter. Houston also gave him a shot but due to the structure of their roster and having too many point guards, he was then put through waivers. At this point, the Lakers again put in a bid to acquire Jeremy Lin, but due to the new structure of the CBA, the Knicks were awarded and he then became a NY Knick.
Another part of the story is the fact that this story was going to be re-written again. The Knicks were about to waive Jeremy Lin, but the opportunity was finally given to him to play. After just one week, he has literally taken over the sports scene in New York, along with the nation. This comes at a time in the biggest media market when the Giants just won the superbowl and where he shares the same court with Carmelo Anthony, Amar’e Stoudemire, Tyson Chandler, and yes Spike Lee!
Why and how is he so humble? Who is Jeremy Lin? What is at his core?
Before Linsanity … #Pastor Lin? Check out Arden Cho interviewing Jeremy Lin while he was with the Golden State Warriors.
From before all the hype, and yes, before Lin set career highs against the Lakers, it seems as if he has his eyes opened up to the bigger picture compared to what is happening now with … Linsanity. Things have changed just a bit now.
On many occasions, people have already started to compare him to Tim Tebow. Now, I’m not quite sure if I agree with the comparisons. Living up to hype in the biggest media market in the U.S. is one of the most difficult things to handle. Tebow has handled national attention while winning Heisman trophies and National Championships. Lin on the other hand, went to Harvard where they are known for their academics and where Social Network was filmed. Aside from that, does any soul out there remember Lin from those days? Probably not. It’s funny to see national columnists take attention to his talents because these guys usually know everything regarding the players in the NBA.
This is the best one we came across …
I just hope that NY doesn’t put him on a pedestal too quickly, and set up him up for failure.
So when Linsanity went national this past week, while blowing up facebook and twitter, every interview always contains some form of humility. Yes, he wants to be a NBA player. But most of all, he has his heart set on becoming a pastor and work in the community to help others that are less fortunate. And most of the times, in these videos, everyone always goes out of there way to mention something positive about his character. From his friends, media, and teammates like Tyson Chandler are caught saying things like “it’s happening to the right guy.”
If you look at his situation now, he is playing for the Knicks, taking the sports scene by storm, and well, he is currently living on his brother’s couch. It’s an amazing story to follow and we definitely appreciate his talents and what the Lord is showing us through him thus far after just 4 games. But with multiple nations now watching him play basketball, what happens next? Let’s see where #Linsanity ends up. Just hopefully he doesn’t run a cLINic on the Lakers too many times! Or maybe we can start by making sure that Lin has a place of his own so he doesn’t have to stay on his brothers couch.
Not that any one really needs to know by now but :
Jeremy Lin on twitter: @jLin7

Jeremy Lin is a great example and inspiration on how the Lord can change our situation in a split second!!!!!
Spike Lee : STop Asian Profi’LIn … hahaha
Linsanity is a crazy story … How could anyone hate on this guy? and I agree that he should not be compared to Tim Tebow. They both have their own unique personal journey and i think comparing the two could be harmful. Step it up media!
I think what is great is that this is hitting the topics of culture and diversity. I hope you guys find articles on that rather than just the games itself. powerful testimony!
It’s pretty insane to watch all this happen in such a short amount of time. And i really like how its becoming a cultural topic aside from just a sports topic. There seems to be so many different angles. Sports, business, ethnicity, cultures etc ….
I think He’s cute while playing ball … i could get used to this.
@caroline : of course you would … haha! LInsanity Rules!
I love every single story of this guy even though the “linism’s” are getting a little played out. hahaa
Jeremy is an awesome example on so many levels. I find it amazing how faith not only the Lord is to Jeremy, but how faithful Jeremy is to the Lord!
